2014-2023
Through chilled industrial currents, Khionik emerged as the combined creative force of Syrinx and Brian Graupner. The name, drawn from the Greek goddess of snow, Khione, reflects a sound defined by the fusion of cryokinetic textures and old-school club drive. Established in 2014, the duo introduced their volatile chemistry with the single “Vaulted Beast,” produced by Dan Clark of The Dark Clan, and quickly transitioned the project from the studio to the stage.
The collaboration originated from sonic experiments developed by Syrinx while remixing material for Brian’s other outlet, The Gothsicles. That foundation evolved into a focused partnership that carried the project forward, eventually leading the pair to sign with Tigersquawk Records in 2017, where they released several singles during the label’s active years.
Later recordings integrated production work from Daniel Belasco of Glass Apple Bonzai and Gopal Metro, formerly of Bella Morte. Their influence helped shape the final material, sharpening the project’s darker, more refined edge as it moved toward its conclusion.
