SYRINX

Music Mixologis

2009-current

Syrinx began his journey in 1998, keeping the groove alive across several clubs in the Cleveland Flats. By 2009, the focus shifted toward producing mixshows for radio, which naturally led into reshaping songs for those sets. That progression sparked a deeper interest in reconstructing individual tracks, earning recognition from artists for these inventive reinterpretations.

In September 2017, Syrinx joined Tigersquawk Records, contributing remixes to various artist releases and appearing on a range of compilations. Since the label’s conclusion on November 1, 2023, the focus has moved toward developing a new music project while maintaining a steady output through a collective of partnerships. This shift allows for continued work on selected artist releases and compilations as an independent creator.

While these collaborations evolve, standout work from The Time Warp continues to be issued under the Red Star Remixes banner. This remains the dedicated home for reinterpretations that allow a familiar track to find a new beat on a different dancefloor.

TUBTHUMPING [Chumbawumba cover] feat. Batávia – released July 23, 2021

Looking to create a track together for the album Squawk Jams, I chose this one because it shared the same dynamics we had previously established. I created the initial beat for Ed and Terri to record with, and then sent over my vocal takes to mix in with theirs.

SO YOU DECIDED TO BECOME A DUMB GOTH (SHIT) by Psyence Fiction – released Jan 6, 2020

A request went out inviting people to be part of this song by submitting voice recordings. I sent in mine, and to my surprise, it ended up being the main one heard throughout the track.

WIFI AT THE ZOO with Angel Metro (from Gild The Mourn) – released Jan 23, 2017

This track was created to riff on Brian’s inability to stay connected to the outside world. Angel quoted him during a Facebook Live video, and the idea for this song immediately came to mind. I created the beat, wrote the lyrics, and then got Angel to rap. I also made this video, which is the only place the song stays connected to an inside joke.

THE BIG BEAT 80’s with Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) – released Aug 15, 2014

Working with Kevin was an honor, as he is such a musical force. Often described as “arguably the most prolific composer you’ve never heard of,” Kevin creates and shares royalty-free music through his website and he commissioned me to help with this track. The beat is mine, and I also arranged his synths along with the effects that run throughout. The coda is entirely his to help bring it to a softer end. Please feel free to use it in your projects as it is available through the YouTube Audio Library.
