Due to the success of The Time Warp, Barbara had asked Syrinx if he would like to do a second show. Syrinx jumped at the chance, as this one would allow him to show off the other side of his music collection. The first incarnation was called The Syrinx Classic Radio Mixtape and it aired on the Sobel Classics Radio station. Only four shows aired before it had the opportunity to move over on The Cellar, which was a new channel that opened up on WildCat.FM – Sobel Nation’s sister station. This allowed Syrinx to make this show into what he really wanted it to be: a mix of top 40, underground hits, deep album cuts, rare gems, unreleased songs, demos, fan favorites, and a little bit of humor. The last ingredient: a crazy title! The phrase “It Does Go Well With The Chicken” was borrowed from the famous “Blue Nun” soundbyte, which served as the intro to the show. After the playlist was done, the show ended with a clip from another Beastie Boys song, “Live at P.J.’s.” It Does Go Well With The Chicken did not originally have episode themes. However, if one Syrinx’s favorite bands released a new song, it was sure to make into the show. Later in the year, Critch Starblade and DJ Evil D joined the channel, and three of them would sometimes coordinate their shows.
